Responsibilities
Primary focus is to assist in servicing and operational management of accounts
Underwrite, service and manage assigned accounts of moderate complexity. Complexity is based on the degree of uncertainty, financial risk, technical requirements, urgency and volume or size
Assess exposure and determine rates, terms and conditions of coverage in accordance with guidelines and uses judgement underwriting to evaluate a risk
Determine either to accept, modify, or decline risks. Request reinsurance as necessary
Decrease value of policy when risk is substandard to limit company obligation, and specify applicable endorsements, or apply rating to ensure safe and profitable distribution of risks
Develop or modify policy wording when standard text is not appropriate
Bind coverage and initiate issuance of documents
Sign policy and authorize transmittal of documents to brokers and markets as required

Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
3 to 5 years of underwriting experience
Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Effective customer service skills
Proficient use of applicable technology
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
