Northwind Health Company is a purpose-driven organization focused on healthcare services and analytics. They are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to help build their Northwind Medallion Data Hub and manage critical data operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

Build and enhance the Northwind Medallion Data Hub using Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Delta Lake, and PySpark

Develop scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers

Participate in daily data operations management, including monitoring pipelines, ensuring on-time data delivers, and trouble shooting issues

Collaborate with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and end users to define and deliver data solutions

Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices

Support mission-critical initiatives including HBA/TPA build-out, claims processing, eligibility, pharmacy operations, clinical programs, and reporting/analytics

Improve pipeline reliability, performance, and observability through logging, alerting, and automation

Required

Minimum of three years of experience in data engineering or similar roles

Proficient knowledge in Azure and Databricks

Experience operating a Medallion architecture data ecosystem

Hands-on experience managing daily data operations in a production environment

Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience mentoring more junior team members

Preferred

Healthcare, PBM, TPA, or HIPAA regulated data experience is a plus
