Responsibilities
Design and implement elegant, scalable microservices using modern Python frameworks
Build and maintain RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI standards
Develop full-stack features using Python, React, MongoDB, and AWS services
Integrate with third-party tools, platforms, and data systems
Build reusable components, libraries, and infrastructure for long-term scalability
Rapidly prototype, test, and refine applications based on user and stakeholder feedback
Optimize performance, reliability, and security across the application stack
Contribute to all phases of the SDLC—architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring
Fully participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, grooming, retros)
Perform peer code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
Collaborate closely with Engineering, DevOps, Product, Research, and IT
Drive continuous testing, validation, and quality assurance practices
Partner with and oversee 3rd-party vendors/contractors to ensure high-quality delivery
Provide Tier 3 production support and resolve escalations within SLAs
Mentor teammates and support onboarding initiatives
Perform other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
7+ years of hands-on engineering experience with extensive Python development
3+ years of experience with advanced Python frameworks (Flask or Django)
3+ years of experience with ReactJS (including Hooks)
Strong experience with systems integration and data movement between platforms
Experience with ETL workflows and API integrations
Background in SOA and microservices architecture
Experience designing and deploying high-volume, high-availability applications
Hands-on experience building solutions on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.)
Familiarity with Agile development and continuous delivery
Experience with performance tuning and monitoring distributed applications
Strong communication skills with ability to interface with senior leadership and, when applicable, clients
Solid understanding of data integration, modeling, migration, and transformation pipelines
Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Redis)
Experience developing/consuming RESTful services
Experience with worker/queue or event-driven architectures
Expertise in serverless technology (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
Experience writing unit and integration tests (PyTest, unittest)
Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3
Experience with state management tools (Redux, Recoil, Apollo Client)
Experience with CSS frameworks (TailwindCSS, Emotion, Styled-Components)
Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWA)
CI/CD pipeline experience and deployment automation
Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Docker Compose)
Experience with data modeling, documentation, and communication
Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Git, and GitHub
