Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented Corporate Counsel attorney to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) with their growing data center construction needs. This role involves drafting contracts, developing compliance programs, and providing legal advice to various teams within AWS.

Responsibilities

Drafting and negotiating construction and consultant contracts
Developing and implementing compliance and training programs
Creating efficient contracting workflows
Working directly with business and partner teams to provide day-to-day advice
Resolving vendor management issues
Handling pre-litigation disputes
Interacting with Procurement, Public Policy, Public Relations, Finance, Compliance, and Tax teams
Managing outside counsel

Legal experienceJuris DoctorConstruction contractsIn-house attorney experienceProcurementEnglish communicationCross-functional collaboration

Required

5+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
Experience with engineering, construction or infrastructure contracts

Preferred

Experience as in-house attorney
Experience working cross functionally across several teams
Familiarity with services procurement, construction, engineering, or infrastructure contracts
