Responsibilities

Repair frames, covers, legs and sewing
Hand Sewing
Use chemicals and other products to repair and touch up leathers and legs
Using a heat gun on leathers
Train others as needed
Perform a visual inspection of the finished product to ensure:
Stitches are straight
Ensure pattern is correct according to production ticket
Ensure piece is Upholstered correctly to specifications
Ensure there are no holes or flaws in the Fabric/Leather
Ensure legs and finishes of leg are correct
Make repairs as needed
Push piece back to upholster to correct issues
Work with Cutting department to stay up to date on new fabrics and leathers, their characteristics and how to repair issues
Other duties as assigned

Required

Must be able to read/write English
Must be able to read a ruler
Must be able to read an order ticket
Must be able to tell the difference in finishes of the legs
Must have knowledge of Upholstery Procedures
Must be able to use a staple gun, staple puller, scissors and regulators
Must be able to work safely, neatly, and quickly to meet production requirements
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to transport frames to and from the work area
Must be able to use chemicals to repair and touch up as needed
Must have good vision
Must be able to consistently push/pull and lift up to 75 lbs
Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including ability to describe and convey nonconformance issues is required
Strict attention to detail is a must
Must be a team player with a positive attitude
Must be able to work with minimum supervision
Must have your own reliable transportation
Must be able to walk and stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day
Must be able to work Weekends and Overtime
Must be able to wear required PPE such as Safety Glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes
Must be able to adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures to prevent injuries to yourself and others
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
