Responsibilities
Engage with key leaders across the organization to determine best way of sharing not just data but insights coming from report development, data integration, data modeling, etc
Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for laboratory operations and client needs
Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
Data Modeling: Create and optimize data models that facilitate efficient reporting and analysis, with a focus on lab-specific metrics and KPIs
User Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including laboratory staff and management, to gather requirements and understand reporting needs
Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of reports and dashboards, implementing optimizations to enhance speed and user experience
Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for BI processes, data sources, and reporting standards to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations
Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users, helping them effectively utilize Power BI for their reporting and analytical needs
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization, proposing enhancements to our BI tools and methodologies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in Power BI development, data visualization, or business intelligence, preferably in a laboratory or healthcare environment
Proficiency in Power Apps, BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, word processing software, spreadsheet software, and database software
Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation, particularly with large datasets typical in laboratory settings
Experience with data modeling and warehousing concepts, data transformation tools relevant to lab data management
Knowledge of data visualization best practices specific to scientific data
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment
Preferred
Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc.)
Familiarity with laboratory regulations and standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP)
