Responsibilities
Support design of highway, arterial, and local roadway improvements
Develop roadway, signing, pavement marking, traffic signal, and maintenance-of-traffic plans
Perform roadway 3D modeling
Prepare estimated quantity calculations and cost estimates
Conduct site visits to support design development
Prepare alternative evaluation studies and technical reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (transportation focus preferred)
Entry-level experience, up to 5 years
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the intent to pursue Professional Engineer licensure
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to travel periodically (approximately 15% or more)
Preferred
Prior internship or coursework related to transportation engineering
Familiarity with state DOT design standards
Experience participating in multidisciplinary project teams
