Director of Technical Accounting – Global Technology Company – Long Island
Advice Personnel is a high-growth fintech company, and they are seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to support all aspects of their accounting procedures. This role will be integral in developing their accounting function and will oversee a team while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation and maintenance for appropriate policies and procedures to enable accurate and timely financial reporting, which is compliant with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Monitor key internal controls to ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures
Creating consolidated financial statements, footnotes, Management's Discussion and Analysis, and fulfilling GAAP compliance assessments
Assist the VP of Accounting with day-to-day activities related to certain complex corporate accounting matters on ASC 606 and ASC 350
Drive the preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers, ensuring clear articulation of issues, authoritative guidance cited, and well-supported conclusions
Coordinate with external auditors to promote an efficient, productive audit of the company’s internal controls and financial records
Provide oversight for the month-end and quarter-end revenue close processes, ensuring accuracy of revenue results, completeness of contract reviews, and appropriateness of key ASC 606 judgments and estimates
Qualification
Required
8+ years of related experience with a foundation in public accounting
Excellent knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting principles, ASC606 and ASC350
Ability to research, propose and document company positions on complex accounting issues
Active CPA license
