Responsibilities
Calibrate and properly use the prove-up equipment (Shear-wave UT)
Organize and report results prove-up inspection
Accurately fill out/record applicable paperwork
Perform all applicable inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A and API and internal procedures
Prove-up pipe that needs further evaluation ensuring material is properly identified and segregated
Understanding and working knowledge of handheld shear wave, digital thickness compression wave, AC yoke, dye penetrant, handheld micrometers, and visual inspection
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
1 year of experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry
Level II certificate on UT
Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry
Successful completion of pre-screen drug test and physical
Familiar with requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed
Ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly
Ability to respond quickly to sounds
Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
Ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds
Ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE
Ability to see 20-20 when corrected
Ability to identify and distinguish colors
