Responsibilities

Build and complete the Amazon go-to-market strategy, including initial entry via a best-fit 3P partner
Lead an RFP process to recruit and select the 3P partner responsible for logistics and marketing execution
Collaborate with Merchandising to develop the assortment strategy and address channel conflict to elevate overall performance
Set pricing and promotion mechanisms to protect brand equity and avoid cross-channel disruption
Develop a comprehensive plan to combat unauthorized third-party sellers, ensuring price integrity and brand protection
Establish critical metrics and deliver on sales, margin, and share objectives
Develop outstanding content and marketing strategies to draw in new customers on Amazon
Partner with Digital and Creative teams to deliver A+ content for both our brand site and Amazon PDPs. Develop partnerships for DAM (Digital Asset Management)
Build ratings & reviews programs working with partners like Bazaarvoice to drive Ratings and Reviews at 4.5+
Lead winning strategies for search visibility—both paid and organic
Recruit, develop and lead a multi-functional Amazon team across marketing, merchandising, operations and analytics
Partner with Legal, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing and other channel leads (Beauty, Mass, Club, Food, etc.) to ensure an integrated omnichannel experience
Support and align with social commerce initiatives and the broader digital ecosystem
Hands-on experience leading both 1P (Vendor Central) and 3P (Seller Central) models, including launching and scaling 3P via an RFP and managing partners such as Pattern, Flywheel, CPG.io, or similar
Strong understanding of Amazon Retail Media (search advertising, DSP, paid & organic SEO), A+ content, and how to win in search rankings
Knowledge of assortment planning and pricing strategy to balance Amazon growth with Direct to Consumer and brick-and-mortar channels while avoiding channel conflict
Ability to craft and implement a profitable Amazon growth strategy that supports overall CPG brand goals
Strong grasp of P&L management and the financial levers unique to Amazon (fees, advertising return on investment, shipping costs, margins)
Analytical approach for data-driven decision making—comfortable using tools such as Profitero, Nielsen, Circana, or internal BI dashboards
Familiarity with fulfillment and logistics models, including FBA vs. 3P fulfillment, hazardous-materials considerations, and shipping-cost management
Deep knowledge of promotion mechanics (e.g., coupons, Subscribe & Save, deal events) and how these levers impact brand equity
Expertise in ratings & reviews management (e.g., Bazaarvoice) and content optimization for product detail pages (PDPs) and brand stores

Required

8–12+ years of progressive e-commerce experience with at least 5 years directly leading Amazon (Vendor Central and/or 3P models)
Proven experience initiating or growing a brand's Amazon footprint, encompassing strategy formulation, financial oversight, and partner identification
Deep expertise in Amazon search optimization (paid & organic), content development (A+), and promotional levers
Experience leading or partnering with a 3P aggregator / marketplace agency and handling RFPs
Proficient knowledge in channel pricing strategy, brand protection tactics, and unauthorized seller mitigation
Demonstrated ability to recruit and lead cross-functional team members and to work collaboratively across Legal, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing and other channel leaders
Ambitious 'builder' mindset—comfortable operating in a startup-within-a-large-company environment
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to navigate Amazon's ecosystem and internal collaborators
Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to balance speed and compliance in a regulated CPG environment
Hands-on and strategic: equally comfortable setting long-term strategy and 'hands on keyboard' execution
Strong analytical and commercial competence, with a focus on measurable results
Passion for creating an omnichannel consumer experience and supporting social commerce growth
