Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and filing of either OR all tax returns, including but not limited to 1040, C-Corp, Partnership Tax, and 990s/Not For Profit returns
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Provide guidance and advice on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities
Research and analyze tax laws and regulations to ensure the company is in compliance and identify any potential tax savings opportunities
Communicate with external tax consultants and government agencies as needed
Manage and review tax audits and respond to any inquiries from tax authorities
Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation
Train and supervise tax department staff
Qualification
Required
CPA and/or EA certification for Manager level and 'in process' for CPA or EA for non-Manager
Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of 1040, C-Corp, Partnership Tax, Real Estate, and Not For Profit
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance and planning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Experience with tax preparation software and accounting systems
Previous experience managing and training tax department staff
Attention to detail and accuracy
