Project Engineer (Manufacturing Support)
Crane Company is focused on new product development activities to enhance sales of new products. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring manufacturability and optimizing production efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products, including creating work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure new product designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards
Oversee the prototyping process, perform testing and validation of new manufacturing processes, and iterate on designs based on test results
Specify and procure tooling and equipment necessary for new product manufacturing. Ensure equipment meets production requirements and quality standards
Conduct manufacturing assembly feasibility reviews to ensure designs are suitable for efficient and effective assembly
Lead PFMEA activities to identify potential failure modes and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks
Develop detailed work instructions to guide the assembly process and ensure consistency and quality
Design assembly cells to optimize workflow, efficiency, and ergonomics
Design and implement assembly fixtures to enhance precision, reduce assembly time, and ensure product quality
Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality
Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure new products meet all required specifications and standards
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process specifications, and training materials
Manage projects related to new product introduction, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
Work closely with design, engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the manufacturing environment
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address manufacturing challenges
Training in the use of 2D CAD software is required
Must be able to demonstrate project management success, either managing an entire development project or a portion of a development project as part of a larger team
Preferred
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a new product development environment, is a plus
Solid Works 3D CAD experience is a plus
