Principal Program Chief Engineer - Ejection & Propulsion (Onsite)

They are seeking a Principal Program Chief Engineer to support development and Low Rate Initial Production contracts, acting as the primary technical interface to the customer and ensuring technical requirements and scope are met.

Responsibilities
Primary technical interface to the customer and has the primary accountability for meeting technical requirements and scope for the program including cost and schedule
Directs technical system-level trade studies and has design authority approval
Ensures processes are adhered to by the engineering execution team and liaises with program management and PMT leads to assure technical goals are achieved
Responsible for capturing lessons learned
Take ownership of technical project execution through Design & Development activities into Production
Lead project activities, provide technical guidance, and motivate multi-disciplinary engineering teams ensuring collaboration of Engineering and Production activities
Coordinate project staffing with Engineering Management and provide timely forecasts of staffing demand
Perform Risks & Opportunities Management activities throughout project execution
Track, report, and analyze project health metrics, to include Earned Value, Requirements, Test Burndown, Software/Hardware Discovery and Quality
Present project status to multiple levels of Leadership
Support internal and external stakeholders as the primary technical point of contact
Support Pursuit & Order capture activities including bidding & estimation efforts for new projects. This will include activities such as proposal response, development of the work breakdown structure and statement of work, support technical design approach, and creation of project schedule
Evaluate & document current (and define future) architectures to solve business problems
Qualification
Required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Previous leadership experience (Project or People Management)
Preferred
Design, analysis or test engineering experience
Earned Value experience
Customer communications and customer management experience
Previous Programmatic Experience (Program Management, Project Management, etc.) preferred
