Inspector II

Responsibilities

Inspect product using inspection tools and equipment such as vernier calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, micrometers, cylindrical plugs and thread gauges, indicators, inspection fixtures and visual inspection on production parts, sub-assemblies, details or components prior to product shipment
Perform complex geometric layout inspection using standard variable gaging and relative mathematics
Maintain accurate records of inspection results, measurement data, and non-conformance reports. Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) packages
Examine material or product for surface defects such as scratches, pits, and other surface irregularities
Verify dimensional compliance of all products with drawing and customer requirements
Performs in-process inspection of products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with all applicable mechanical and process related requirements

Required

3 years inspection experience

Preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years of experience in quality inspection within aerospace manufacturing industry
CMM Inspection experience
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Able to use Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other automated measuring devices
Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written. Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
Proficient in Aerospace standards, able to interpret blueprint requirements, and GD&T principles
Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at troubleshooting quality issues
