EHS Sr Specialist (Radiation Safety Officer)

Responsibilities

Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance
Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization
Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives
Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained
Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents
Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels
Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations
Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans
Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations
Responsible for all aspects of a Radiation Safety program and serves as the facility Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
Advises plant management of the requirements of radiation safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance as mandated by the regulating agency. Ability to provide technical guidance to leadership and plant personnel

Required

Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
