Senior Manager, Corporate Prospecting & New Business

They are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Prospecting & New Business to expand their corporate fundraising pipeline by identifying and qualifying corporate prospects aligned with their mission.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategy for identifying and qualifying corporate prospects aligned with American Forests’ goals
Create and manage a dynamic pipeline of 1,000+ vetted leads using established donor archetypes and prioritization frameworks
Cultivate 100+ new leads annually
Develop tools and decision-making resources (e.g., benefits matrices, qualification scorecards)
Identify 300+ new leads annually, qualify 250+ leads annually
Conduct in-depth research on corporate sustainability initiatives, philanthropic activity, ESG goals, and environmental alignment
Find and verify contact information for decision-makers and corporate influencers
Monitor trends in corporate giving and identify partnership opportunities within key sectors
Work cross departmentally to network map lead generation with programmatic colleagues, executive leadership, and Board members
Annually transition 25-50 qualified, cultivated leads ready for solicitations
Prepare prospect profiles and briefing documents for use by relationship managers
Collaborate closely with Corporate Partnerships staff to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified leads
Collaborate with cross departmentally on updating and developing new prospect materials
Identify and implement new Communications strategies for reaching corporate and corporate foundation prospects
Work with Corporate Communications Director on library of 'best-of' proposals, grants, language and other materials for prospective and current partners
Coordinate with Corporate team and programmatic colleagues supporting conferences and events to integrate prospecting strategies
Manage prospecting tools and databases (e.g., Accelerist, iWave, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
Maintain accurate records in CRM (e.g., Raiser’s Edge); track pipeline health and conversion rates
Maintain folder of up-to-date prospect and grant resources
Develop department efficiencies to streamline work wherever possible
Lead on pipeline and active prospect discussions in cross departmental meetings
Lead project of integrating prospect pipelines and touch points into Raiser’s Edge, including conceptualizing and data entry

Required

Bachelor's degree with a Business and/or non-profit management focus preferred; Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of
At least 5 years of experience in prospect research, development, or partner implementation for a corporation, corporate foundation, agency or non-profit with demonstrated success building and qualifying a pipeline of high-value leads required
Excellent writing and communication skills are required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, prospecting tools, and CRM platforms (e.g., Airtable, Raiser's Edge, WealthEngine) essential
Ability to synthesize complex information and assess strategic alignment
Ability to work independently, have strong business judgment and initiative, and be able to represent the organization in front of a variety of high-level contacts
Relationship Management experience and/or desire for possible portfolio management in the future
Experience in an environmental, conservation, or mission-driven nonprofit setting
Understanding of corporate ESG goals, sustainability reporting, and CSR trends
Comfort working across teams and managing multiple deadlines
