Controller / Senior Accounting Manager

They are seeking a Controller / Senior Accounting Manager to oversee full-cycle accounting processes, improve operational efficiencies, and collaborate with various teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

Demonstrated full-cycle accounting experience, including month‑end closing, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and depreciation schedules
Experience with inventory accounting, including tracking, adjustments, and reconciliations
Experience with work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedules and recognizing revenue as it is earned
Strong ability to analyze financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide clear explanations of results
Able to map existing processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose practical improvements
Comfortable creating clear, step‑by‑step standard operating procedures (SOPs) for full‑cycle accounting, inventory (tracking, adjustments, etc.)
Detail‑oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines across different offices
Self‑starter and problem solver who proactively identifies issues, asks questions, and is not afraid to respectfully critique and improve existing processes
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain accounting issues to non‑accounting staff and train local office teams on new processes and SOPs
Comfortable working closely with operation managers, project managers, and field staff to understand job costs, inventory usage, and project/WIP status
Proven ability to build productive relationships with operations, local office staff, and senior leadership, including the CFO and CEO
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across several locations and entities
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling financial information
Willing and able to travel regularly to different affiliated company offices to review on‑site processes, provide training, and ensure consistent implementation of standard procedures, while also working remotely from home as appropriate

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Advanced computer skills, including Outlook, Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations), and organized file/folder management
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop, including multi‑company or multi‑location environments
