GL Accountant, Full-Time (hybrid)

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage is seeking a GL Accountant to assist in generating timely and accurate financial statements for the organization. The role involves providing general accounting customer service to staff and managing various accounting functions including month-end close and accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare and enter journal entries to assist in preparation and distribution of timely and accurate monthly financial statements
Complete standard journal entries each month prior to financial statement preparation
Monitor month-end closing checklist for completeness
Prepare and analyze reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Prepare and analyze reconciliation of earned revenue, payroll, and select expense accounts
Primary administrator of expense management platform
Assist AP coordinator with AP cycle, including biweekly check run
Prepare 1099s ensuring delivery by regulatory deadline
Assist with preparation of PBC list and additional requests from auditors
Timely response to any additional requests from auditors
Document and maintain finance department procedures
Project-based work to optimize financial processes affecting internal and external stakeholders
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity in dealing with sensitive information
Performs other duties as requested

Required

High school diploma required
3 years' experience in general accounting
Intermediate computer skills working with integrated accounts payable and general ledger packages required, such as MIP
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders
Strong attention to detail, organization and planning skills
Independent judgment, discretion and integrity
Criminal Background-National clearance

Preferred

Associates degree with emphasis in Accounting preferred
Nonprofit experience a plus
