Responsibilities

Providing consulting, advisory, conceptualization, and design of district heating and cooling, thermal energy storage, and geothermal resources
Working closely with our mechanical, energy, and geothermal engineering teams in North America
Piping and equipment sizing and selection
Flow modeling
Energy analysis
Life cycle cost evaluations
Performing thermodynamic, technology, market, and economic analysis
Engineering/economic design of thermal energy networks and low- or no-emissions energy systems
Collaborating with our technical leadership, operations, client account managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm
Internal promotion of geothermal energy as a possible solution for our existing multi-sector client base

Qualification

Mechanical EngineeringThermal Energy SystemsProject ManagementGeothermal DevelopmentTechno-Economic EvaluationsTransient Systems SimulationPythonCommunication SkillsProblem-Solving SkillsTechnical Writing

Required

Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with ability to obtain PE license
At least 2 years of design/consulting experience
Experience managing projects and teams
Thermal energy systems modeling, techno-economic evaluations, and thermal energy storage investigations

Preferred

Industry experience with geothermal development
PH. D
Experience with transient and complex systems simulation programs or languages such as TRNSYS, Simulink, Modelica, and Aspen Plus
Familiarity with Python or Julia programming languages
Strong communication and technical writing skills
