Financial Merchandising Analyst

Responsibilities

Evaluate product P&L performance, margin trends, and inventory turns
Monitor & develop KPIs: sales velocity, true cost, gross margin return on investment (GMROI), inventory-to-sales ratios
Conduct scenario modeling and sales forecasts for new/existing products
Analyze SKU-level performance; recommend assortment adjustments
Support pricing initiatives—core pricing, seasonal markdowns, and promotional campaigns
Create price elasticity models and assess impact on volume and margin
Contribute to promotional calendar planning and margin optimization
Track SKU-level inventory; support safety stock, reorder triggers, and EOQ modeling
Partner with procurement/supply chain to align inventory with demand forecasts
Drive initiatives to reduce excess inventory and improve Cash Conversion Cycle
Collaborate with marketing, sales, channel management, and operations to align on strategies and launch plans
Provide analytic support for product launches, channel promotions (e.g. distributors, OEMs), and cross-border rollouts
Develop dashboards and regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for senior leadership and business units
Present clear, actionable insights to diverse stakeholders, including international teams
Create period review materials for senior-level review
Lead process enhancements: automation of reports, system upgrades (e.g., ERP, BI tools)
Incorporate industry best practices and tools to improve efficiency and analytical rigor

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics, Data Science or similar
5+ years' experience in financial analysis, merchandising, or inventory planning—preferably in retail, distribution, or manufacturing
Person must be a self-starter, self-sufficient and comfortable working independently. Must take initiative to create new reports or analyze the business from a new angle
Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros). Intermediate to advanced SQL, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and PowerPoint
Familiarity with ERP systems and forecasting tools
Self-motivated, adaptable, project-driven problem-solver
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, sense of urgency
Excellent presentation, communication, and cross-functional leadership
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment

Preferred

Experience in synthetic turf, horticulture, landscaping, or building products
Statistical or financial modeling experience preferred
