Rudin Management Company is seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant to focus on tax compliance and planning for high-net-worth individuals and their real estate holdings. The role involves implementing a best-in-class tax process, managing quarterly estimates, and collaborating closely with the Director of Taxation and other staff across the company.

Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly reports and annual tax estimates for individuals, trusts, and underlying real estate entities

Collect and track key tax documents and schedules (e.g. K1, 1099,1098, Sch. H, etc.)

Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work

Review of forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S & 990PF prepared by outsourced tax provider

Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations, gather information & formulate responses to tax authority inquiries

Find solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings

Prepare sales & use, and commercial rent tax returns

Stay up to date on legislative and regulatory changes and analyze to make strategic recommendations

Prepare and maintain tax accrual balance sheet accounts for inclusion in the company’s books and records

Required

Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting/finance or a related field is required

5+ years of tax compliance & planning

A strong knowledge of high net worth individual, trust & estate taxation is required

Experience preparing and/or reviewing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, & 1120s

Knowledge of NYS & NYC tax concepts

Ability to exercise a high degree of diligence is required

Proficiency in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Visio/Outlook

Strong written & verbal communication skills

Strong analytical skillset and focus

Preferred

CPA preferred

knowledge of real estate and alternative investment tax issues preferred

Working knowledge of Yardi (Voyager) software preferred
