Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with Managing Directors and Directors to deliver exceptional client service to a portfolio of real estate clients, including real estate funds, developers, REITs, family offices, private equity investors, and operating companies
Lead and review complex tax compliance engagements (e.g., partnerships, multi-tier structures, consolidated groups, REIT returns, 1031 exchanges, cost segregation studies, state & local filings)
Provide proactive tax planning, structuring, and advisory services specific to real estate transactions, acquisitions, dispositions, debt restructuring, and waterfall allocations
Identify opportunities to expand services, improve tax strategies, and drive additional value for clients
Demonstrate deep understanding of real estate taxation, including:
Partnership tax (Subchapter K)
Capital account maintenance & tax basis analysis
704(b) and 704(c) allocations
Oversee engagement planning, budgeting, and billing
Supervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively
Provide real-time coaching, formal performance feedback, and support career development pathways
Drive a team environment; demonstrate support of management decisions and build a positive culture

Required

Bachelor's degree required
8 years experience in public accounting or related field
5 years supervisory
Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Proficient use of applicable technology
Must be able to travel based on business needs
