Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is seeking an ED Technician to assist with various technical procedures in the Emergency Department. The role involves providing routine patient care, performing clinical procedures, and offering medically related administrative support activities under the supervision of registered nurses.

Responsibilities

Performs basic patient care and clinical procedures appropriately under the direction of the RN

Performs phlebotomy, specialized skills, specimen collection and IV procedures as directed by the RN

Documents and communicates pertinent information ensuring confidentiality of patient records

Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

Required

EMT-Advanced, EMT-I, EMT-P, or EMT-Basic required. Must have current certification relevant to position description upon hire

Competency maintained through on-the-job training and education

Ability to interpret type and level of patient care ordered

Provide a variety of clinical treatments

Understand and follow instructions relating to basic patient care

PALS and ACLS required

Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing
