Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Program Director
Cedars-Sinai is a leading healthcare organization, and they are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Program Director for their Chuck Lorre School of Allied Health. This role involves overseeing the CLS educational program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and providing leadership in curriculum development and faculty mentorship.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the educational program aligns with accreditation standards and prepares graduates for successful placement in their field
Responsible for curriculum development, coordinating teaching assignments, and maintaining communication with affiliated education teams
Play a role in faculty development, offering mentorship and fostering an environment conducive to creativity and responsibility
Support students including guidance for students who need educational and/or psychological support
Manage the recruitment and selection process of incoming students and support other key initiatives and activities within the AHS
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in applicable field required. Doctorate preferred
5 years of Clinical and/or technical experience in hospital setting required
3 years Teaching, Precepting and/or mentoring experience required
A valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility is required upon hire
Upon hire: NAACLS Workshop Certificate: Requirement for NAACLS Accreditation as Program Director if no previous program director experience. Workshop provided by NAACLS
Preferred
Medical Technologist (ASCP): ASCP Board of Registry certification as a Medical Technologist, or certification in appropriate specialty
Certified by American Medical Technologist as an Allied Health Instructor (AHI)
ASCP Board of Registry certification as a Medical Technologist, or certification in appropriate specialty
