Fish and Wildlife Technician I (Interim)
Commonwealth of Kentucky is dedicated to conserving the state's Fish and Wildlife Resources. They are seeking a Fish and Wildlife Technician I to work as part of a prescribed fire crew and support habitat restoration efforts.

Responsibilities
Working directly on the fire line as either a holding resource, securing perimeters, or an ignition resource, applying fire to meet objectives
Workdays can be long and physically demanding, often in rough, uneven terrain
This role requires readiness, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols to support land management and habitat restoration goals
In addition to working on the prescribed fire line there also may be opportunities to aid in habitat management implementation, boundary marking, equipment maintenance, and wildlife research
Qualification
Required
High school graduate
Must be able to walk 2 miles while carrying 25 lbs. in 30 minutes
Must be able to obtain National Wildfire Coordination Group Fire Fighter Type II certification within the first four weeks of employment
Preferred
Experience work on a prescribed fire line
Experience with using any of the following equipment: ATV/UTV, chainsaw, leaf blower, and, or, tractor
Familiarity of agricultural equipment operation and repair
Ability to multi-task various job tasks
Works great as a team member
Self-starter and motivated individual
