Responsibilities

Prepare and process import documentation with precision, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations such as FDA standards and customs requirements

Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and 3PL providers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and dispatches efficiently

Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and AS400 software to enter data accurately and track shipments in real-time

Communicate proactively with customers to provide updates on shipment status, resolve issues promptly, and foster strong customer relationships through excellent service

Assist in negotiating freight rates, contracts, and pricing strategies to optimize transportation costs while maintaining high service levels

Support sales efforts by lead generation activities, inside sales initiatives, and developing new business opportunities within the logistics sales sector

Manage transportation planning activities including dispatching freight, scheduling carrier pickups, and coordinating logistics for timely delivery

Maintain detailed records of all import transactions, compliance documentation, and contractual agreements to ensure audit readiness

Creating in bonds and closing out in bonds
