Responsibilities
Providing intelligence that informs fundraising strategy by identifying and assessing major gift prospects
Monitoring and disseminating news on major donors and prospects
Providing research and analysis on individuals, companies, and foundations
Preparing confidential prospect reports, including biographic and philanthropic information from the Law School’s CRM as well as publicly available information
Proactively pinpoints new prospects, assigning financially promising constituents across gift officer portfolios according to post
Partnering with gift officers to better capture value on behalf of Law students and faculty via individual portfolio work
Overseeing NYU Law student workers and strategically assigning workload with the aim of maximizing ROI for staff
Supporting the Law School’s annual and long-term fundraising goals by conducting prospect research utilizing publicly available information sources, as well as data provided through internal and external sources
Preparing comprehensive written analysis, utilizing data analytics and relationship mapping, and updating pertinent information in the Law School’s CRM database
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years prospect research or development and/or fundraising experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Understanding of the full range of prospect development functions and fundraising in a complex environment
Strong analytical, written and verbal communications skills
Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software including experience with online database such as Dun and Bradstreet, Hoover's, Lexis-Nexis, WestLaw, and Dow Jones Risk Center
Preferred
5+ years related experience at a large, urban university or major non-profit organization; research library management
Knowledge of Blackbaud CRM database
