Foster Garvey PC, one of the Pacific Northwest's leading liquor law firms, is seeking a Liquor Paralegal with a background in liquor, cannabis, regulatory compliance, and/or corporate legal work to join our Firm in our Commercial, Intellectual Property, and Technology Transactions Practice Group
The preferred location for this position is Chicago, but it can be located in our Seattle office
The Liquor Paralegal will support attorneys across multiple locations
This is a full-time non-exempt position
An in-person presence is preferred for this position five days per week (Monday through Friday) with normal business hours
Occasional overtime may be necessary to accommodate client needs
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a thirst for learning and growing their legal knowledge
Possessing a collaborative team-oriented work style and having a commitment to client service, attention to detail, strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential to be successful in this role
Draft liquor, cannabis, and ancillary applications for locations throughout the country
Communicate with clients to collect information and documents, including confidential personal information
Communicate effectively with regulators
Research licensing requirements for jurisdictions throughout the country
Provide administrative support, including organizing and preparing documents for attorney review, and coordinating execution and distribution of documents
Ability to work effectively and concurrently on a variety of projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Confidence to perform under pressure with competing demands
Advanced computer and Microsoft Office skills
Consistent use of appropriate spelling, punctuation, and grammar
Ability to complete tasks according to instructions with minimal oversight
Four-year college degree and paralegal certificate, J.D., or other appropriate combination of education and job experience
The pay range for this position is $75,000-$110,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law
Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background screening

Preferred

At least three years of law firm, in-house, or governmental experience is preferred
Experience with liquor applications in Washington State, Illinois, California, and New York is preferred
Experience with TTB filings is preferred, including experience with permits, Certificates of Label Approval, and formula approval applications
