Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data platform components for both real-time and batch processing; own the end-to-end software development lifecycle — requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment
Drive engineering best practices including code quality, performance optimization, automated testing, CI/CD, and system reliability
Define and evaluate architecture, contribute to system-level design discussions, and lead decision-making on engineering trade-offs
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, program managers, SDETs, and data scientists to deliver solutions aligned with business goals
Provide technical leadership, fostering an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture, and mentoring junior/mid-level engineers
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring system performance, availability, and reliability
Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives across the organization
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional programming experience in Scala, Python, etc
3+ years of big data development experience using Spark, Flink, Airflow, Singlestore, Kafka, and AWS big data technologies
Strong understanding of data modeling, distributed systems, and performance optimization
Solid knowledge of system and application design and architecture
Experience building highly available, scalable services in production
Passion for technology and comfort working in interdisciplinary teams
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Required: BS in Computer Science or related field
Preferred
Hands-on experience with Databricks for developing and deploying data pipelines
Experience in data governance, compliance, or observability tooling
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies including Terraform, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, IAM, ALB, etc
Experience with Snowflake, Kinesis, Lambda, and other cloud-native tools
Experience with microservice frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, FastAPI, NestJS, etc
Preferred: Advanced degree in a related discipline
