Lead Specialist Compensation and Benefits

The Lead Specialist Compensation and Benefits will oversee the development and execution of compensation and benefit strategies, ensuring alignment with global frameworks and local market conditions while advising stakeholders on competitive practices.

Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of regional reward and benefit strategies aligned with global frameworks, local market conditions and legislation
Provide insights and recommendations to regional stakeholders on competitive compensation and benefit practices using market data and benchmarking to inform strategies
Regional responsibility of the annual reward and benefits cycle; including annual benchmarking, administrating annual merit and/ or bonus, pay equity reviews, cost modeling, budget input, off-cycle increases, and promotion approvals
Regional governance and administration of other compensation practices and programs. Including position evaluations, spot awards, allowances, benefits and other elements related to total compensation
Ensure alignment between regional benefits strategies, workforce needs, talent and culture strategies
Assess effectiveness of current benefit programs and recommend enhancements or redesigns based on benchmarking, feedback, utilization, and cost
Educate employees and managers on reward programs and policies through training and communication
Participate in global projects and initiatives, representing regional perspectives
Qualification
Required
Degree in Finance, Business Administration, HR, or a related field
Proficient in English, written and spoken
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience as a Compensation and Benefits Specialist, or similar role
Proficiency in compensation and benefits processes
Experience with compensation survey data sources and methodologies
Extensive knowledge of U.S. federal labor laws and regulations, including: Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) – wage and hour standards, overtime eligibility, Equal Pay Act (EPA) – ensuring equal pay for equal work regardless of gender, Civil Rights Act (Title VII) – prohibiting discrimination in compensation decisions, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – ensuring equitable compensation practices for individuals with disabilities, Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) – protecting compensation equity for workers aged 40+, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) – understanding compensation implications during leave periods
Familiarity with state-specific compensation laws within the US and Canadian Provinces and Territories
Experience ensuring pay equity and compliance with internal governance and external legal standards
Ability to interpret and apply benchmarking data in compliance with U.S. labor regulations
Comfortable working with legal and compliance teams to ensure compensation practices meet regulatory standards
Highly experienced in Excel and HR systems (we use SuccessFactors and SAP)
Experience at a large, global company
Proficient in analytical thinking and quantitative assessment
Financial understanding and interest
High level of quality and effective compliance with process and policy
Detail-oriented and able to manage sensitive and confidential information
Solution-oriented approach

Highly effective in conveying ideas clearly through both oral and written communication
