Responsibilities
Serves as crew chief with responsibility for one or two major pieces of firefighting apparatus and a crew of 3-6 Firefighters assigned to a shift
Prepares reports for supervisor concerning fire runs, training, fire prevention inspections
Responds to hazardous material/CBRNE incidents, surveying scene for the purpose of stopping or controlling the release
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Directs the crew in firefighting activities, working from special orders from higher-level supervisors at the scene
Fire Fighter I certification
Fire Fighter II certification
HAZMAT Awareness certification
HAZMAT Operations certification
HAZMAT Technician certification
Airport Firefighter certification
ARFF- apparatus driver operator, pumper certification
Tanker and Aerial certification
Fire Officer I certification
Fire Service Instructor I certification
Fire Inspector I certification
Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) certification
Able to obtain and maintain U.S. issued driver license
Drug test is required
This position requires the employee to submit to an annual medical examination and preemployment physical
This position requires employee to work rotating shifts and a 72 hour work week
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
