Responsibilities
Researches and evaluates client system and storage infrastructure and architecture; draws conclusions; and develops recommendations in accordance with engagement objectives
Identifies and resolves project issues with clients
Supports sales team with proposal responses, SOW preparation, pre sales efforts
Ensures installation/implementation of server, storage and software solutions
Implements solutions and manages large-scale, mission-critical storage environments
Delivers briefings, status reports, presentations, and milestone deliverables to clients and prospects
Promotes and practices teamwork within and with client project personnel
Imposes the highest practical level of quality in all assignments
Identifies, and communicates to the client, the value inherent in work being performed and the importance of each deliverable
Identifies client prospects, and engagement opportunities within those projects
Works with Sales personnel, the Practice Managers, and Management to pursue opportunities
Writes proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, to respond to RFPs and other marketing situations
Works with the Practice Managers and Management to develop and/or adopt specific techniques for addressing client needs in an assigned area
Cultivates strong client relationships, which lead to further work with existing clients
Maintains a current understanding of relevant technical issues through self-training, reading, hands-on experience, coursework, and attendance at briefings and conferences for the highest level of intellectual understanding of Best Practices
Maintains relationships with vendor personnel at appropriate levels as a resource for obtaining correct and current information about products, strategies, and approaches
Cultivates relationships with partners, suppliers in order to develop and share understanding of technology roadmaps within C1S
Converts detailed understanding of products and services into C1 Solution’s, which are valuable to clients, in a specified area of IBM’s Power technology
Qualification
Required
8 to 10 years of Data Center and implementation experience
Minimum 5 years previous supervisory experience
Certified with IBMs technology (Power7, AIX, PowerHA, TSM)
At least 5 years of experience with AIX
At least 3 years of experience with PowerVM
At least 3 years of experience with VMware or a competitive virtualization software solution
Knowledge of Storage Area Networks and IBM branded storage (V7000, SVC, XIV, DS8K, DS5K)
Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) utilizing ISCSI
Detail oriented and willing to work as part of a team
Customer service oriented to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction
Strong troubleshooting, research and communications skills
Ability to multitask on multiple clients' needs
Preferred
Experience with different SAN hardware preferred
Experience with Backup Solutions & Server hardware preferred
