Responsibilities
Monitor and support statewide site-to-site VPN tunnel infrastructure
Develop detailed implementation and test plans for Cisco/Meraki technologies and enterprise networking tools
Research, evaluate, and support software releases and upgrades for network infrastructure
Record, update, and document service requests using the organization’s IT service desk system
Monitor and analyze system logs to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security
Provide remote communications troubleshooting support for internal systems and integrated partner systems
Assess system-level design decisions, communicate implications, and propose mitigation or optimization strategies
Define and communicate component-level requirements in alignment with larger system and project goals
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience
8+ years of experience
Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense
Expert-level skills in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide WAN, LAN, and wireless network environment primarily using Cisco and Meraki solutions
Hands-on configuration, patching, and administration of Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches, along with Meraki switches, wireless access points, and firewalls
Broad knowledge of multiple firewall technologies and strong communication skills
Full lifecycle ownership, including requirements definition, architectural design, implementation, documentation, and support
4–6 years of experience with Cisco Firewalls
4–6 years of experience with Cisco Routers
4–6 years of experience with Cisco Switches
4–6 years of experience with Cisco CCNA-level skills
4–6 years of experience with Cisco CCNP-level skills
4–6 years of experience with Wireshark
Ability to clearly communicate infrastructure designs, architectural decisions, strengths/weaknesses, and recommended solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
4–6 years of experience with Cisco ISE
4–6 years of experience with Cisco VPN solutions
4–6 years of experience with Cisco hardware administration
5+ years designing and operating public and/or private networks (LAN/MAN/WAN), including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, network management, and remote access systems
4+ years supporting Microsoft network communications, including hybrid networking, routing, security, and Azure private access
