Ace Hardware is expanding its Ace Rental business and is seeking a Rental Equipment Service Manager to oversee operations at their locations. The role involves managing a team of Service Technicians, ensuring equipment maintenance and repair, and fostering customer relationships while maximizing productivity and safety.

Responsibilities

Supervise preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of equipment, including but not limited to the following: Mini Excavators, Skid loaders, Mini Skid loaders, Scissor lifts, Towable lifts, Stump Grinders, Chippers, Lawn Aerator, Dethatcher, Trencher

Motivate, coach and train technicians to exceed time and quality standards and comply with standard repair and maintenance processes

Supervise Service Technicians, ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed at all times

Build strong customer relationships through the delivery of high quality and timely customer service

Apply Niemann Foods policies to maximize productivity while maintaining a safe work environment in a clean, organized facility

Manage the shop operating expenses

Lead, plan, measure and continuous improvement of all service and maintenance performance metrics

Meet on regular basis with Regional Director of Operations, reporting any problems and discussing possible solutions

Other duties assigned as needed

Directly supervise a varied number of associates in rental departments across multiple locations

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; Planning, assigning, and directing work; Appraising performance; Rewarding and disciplining Associates; Addressing complaints and resolving problems

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

3-5 years of operations and shop management experience with background in repairing and maintaining the equipment stated above or equivalent combination of education and experience

Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems

Advanced knowledge of heavy equipment, the manufacturers' warranty process, and the work order / time spent accounting process

Experience on diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems that allows for independent assessment and diagnosis in most situations

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Strong motivational and leadership skills

Excellent customer service skills

Strong knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L

Basic computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel
