Pharmacy Billing & Compliance Analyst

UVM Health - UVM Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Billing and Compliance Analyst responsible for ensuring compliance with medication safety and billing regulations across inpatient units and outpatient clinics. The role includes conducting audits, researching medication safety trends, and managing billing processes related to medication dispensation and compliance issues.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with medication safety and billing regulations
Conduct audits of both inpatient and outpatient clinics
Report findings to Pharmacy Leadership and the audited unit's leadership team
Research medication safety trends and correct non-compliance issues
Educate and resolve medication safety compliance issues in clinics and units
Support the Dialysis Home Program billing process
Research and manually post emergency code medication charges
Track, bill, and document transfers of medications between departments and pharmacies
Investigate and monitor medication usage during OR procedures
Ensure departmental medication waste is properly charged
Recordkeeping of narcotics sent to Paramedic sites and ensure compliance with DEA regulations
Track documentation and billing of medications sent to various sites
Work with Financial Edge to monitor and obtain payment for invoices
Analyze high-cost medication usage and discrepancies between dispensations and administrations
Report medication cost and purchase records to internal parties
Participate in internal policy reviews and meetings related to medication auditing, billing and compliance

Required

Associate degree or combination of education and experience required
Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Vermont
Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician with working experience in an acute care setting
Must have familiarity with 340B Drug Pricing Program

Preferred

College course work with auditing, billing, compliance, Pharmacy or accounting background preferred
Knowledge of medication inventory/distribution systems and medication safety/auditing/billing experience preferred
