Responsibilities

The Onsite Technical System Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of 4 direct reports, as well as other management duties. Will supervise/manage on site Motorola Solutions Technician(s)
Oversee, manage and administer the Motorola Astro P25 radio system operations for Miami-Dade County
Deliver maintenance and support services for Motorola's ASTRO P25 and associated technologies, dedicated to ensuring public safety for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR)
Develop system-related monthly reports tailored to customer agreements
Generate monthly reports on subscriber repairs as per customer specifications
Initiate, monitor, and resolve cases efficiently, providing customers with regular status updates
Organize and oversee scheduled preventative maintenance for the P25 radio system
Schedule and manage site inspections to be completed in a timely manner and provide customer documentation
Provide assistance on FirstNet PTT Devices and deployable including but not limited to technical administration
Maintain, optimize, test, document and manage highly technical Motorola communications systems
Oversee and coordinate minor project tasks
Plan and execute system upgrades according to schedule
Track and manage any FSBs (Field Service Bulletins) and advise the customer when applicable
Promptly raise and monitor significant service problems within Motorola Solutions, involving appropriate personnel. Organize meetings and conference calls as required until issues are resolved
Act as the single point of contact for MDFR regarding all service related issues
Monitor of MOSCAD
Monitor the testing of the voting systems including remote site sensitivity verification
Assist with third party maintenance escorts to radio sites (UPS, A/C, Tower climber, Drone Inspections, etc.)
Assist with investigation of weak signal complaints and interference complaints
Inventory and tracking of all infrastructure equipment (spares, out for repair, FRUs, etc.)
Console programming
Maintain inventory of subscriber code plugs
Validate programming configuration of subscribers
Focus on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system while taking a proactive approach to address and mitigate system level alarms and malfunctions
Manage system availability through routine system maintenance, performance monitoring and system wide preventative maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and the documentation of results
Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband systems
Deliver knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks
Deliver knowledge in standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques
Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments
Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues
Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques
Team with Engineering, Project Management, Customer Service and Sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations

Required

3+ years experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Military, Motorola equipment, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering or Networking equipment
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain background clearance as required by US government customer(s)
Must live a commutable distance to the Miami Dade County area
Must be willing to travel 25% of the time and live within 50 miles from the coverage area
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer(s)
Must have a current, valid driver's license and no traffic violations
Ability to be on-call 24/7/365
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's 'Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy' and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers

Preferred

Candidates must be familiar with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques for current model digital and analog Motorola communications equipment and system architectures
Experience as a Radio Administrator/System Manager with expertise in P25 Systems, ASTRO 25, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks, and subscriber equipment
Highly knowledgeable in wired/wireless communications systems, including local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding and awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access, demonstrating strong computer literacy
Possesses exceptional self-management and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with customers, subcontractor partners, and various teams within Motorola Solutions
Self-motivated and capable of performing duties independently without direct supervision
Skilled in quickly resolving customer problems even in stressful situations
Familiarity with configuring and testing base stations, repeaters, routers, switches, and MPLS networks
Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer networks, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges
Ability to develop and deliver technical training
Provides guidance on integrating new tools and solutions into team operations
Proven experience utilizing equipment commonly used for optimizing and testing Motorola communications systems, such as Communications Systems Analyzers, Power Sensors and Watt Meters, TIMS sets, CPS, CSS, Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs)
Skilled in configuring and testing Motorola two-way radio and subscriber products
Experience working with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems, 911 applications, and networking equipment
