The successful candidate will assist with various engineering projects and provide technical expertise to ensure effective engineering solutions for the generation plants.

Responsibilities

Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions

Will be assigned various engineering projects

Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment

All other duties as assigned

Support fleet program information gathering and management

Develop design information for structural component repairs

All other duties as assigned

Basic business acumen training

The internship will also include some rotational exposure to other departments within the Generation Services organization to demonstrate additional roles and services within the organization

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship

Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a bachelor of science or master's degree in civil engineering or a related engineering degree with at least one year of study completed

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access desired

Proficient in AutoCAD or similar systems

Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired

Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date

Must be in good academic standing with your school
