Nordstrom is seeking a seasoned Senior General Liability Claims Analyst to join their in-house Legal department. This role is responsible for independently managing and adjusting a wide range of general liability claims, including customer injury, property damage, and product liability matters.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of claim handling including customer service, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and administration

Provides support for attorney-represented pre-litigation claims

Assists with other claims-related support, investigations, regulatory matters, subpoenas, discovery, and invoicing

Required

Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a general liability claims analyst/examiner

Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in customer service

Knowledge of tort, contract/indemnity and insurance issues, as well as medical and legal terminology

Strong computer skills with general understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, and other Risk Management or claims or legal document management systems

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom

Ability to take responsibility and exercise good judgment consistent with Nordstrom's high ethical standards

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish working relationships with colleagues

Excellent time-management skills, ability to manage a high-volume case load and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proven analytical and organizational skills with robust attention to detail
