Responsibilities
Processing weekly & bi-weekly payroll, reports, reconciliations, year-end procedures, and W-2s for multi-state employees
Ensuring the accurate processing of all mandatory and voluntary deductions as well as garnishments, liens, direct deposit requests, 401K loans, etc
Responding to inquiries and verifications for unemployment and other payroll-related data
Maintaining related records, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management
Ensuring legal compliance in completing all paperwork, including all Federal, State, and Local laws regarding payroll administration
Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures as they relate to payroll
Processing weekly, bi-weekly, special compensation, commission, and bonus checks with the highest standard of accuracy and timeliness
Counseling and resolving employee payroll issues
Ability to create and analyze reports on an as-needed basis
Keeping current in trends and regulations as they relate to the payroll function
Performing other special projects or duties when required
Qualification
Required
BA degree
Minimum 7 years of direct payroll experience
Computer literacy to include MS Office products as well as payroll software
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to interface well with a variety of employees at all levels under deadline pressure is required
Able to accurately multitask, and extreme attention to detail is essential
Preferred
