Responsibilities

Create step-by-step work instructions for the repairs and deviations of hardware and components as they relate to aircraft structures, systems, interiors and avionics
Create engineering installations and repair drawings using AutoCAD or similar software programs
Repair, design and analysis of metal, composite and metal-bond structures
Translate guidance and engineering principles and procedures into usable working direction for assigned projects
Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures
Applies area of specialty to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems
Reviews progress with management and recommends corrective action along with review of alternatives
Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensure adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities

Required

BS Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred) or extensive experience and training in their respective area of expertise to be determined equivalent
Two or more years of engineering experience
Understanding of standard engineering drawing convention
Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs – from Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations) as they apply to transport category aircraft
Familiarity with the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process and the FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD) process and rules governing disposition
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, preferably those created by Boeing, Airbus and Douglas and be familiar with the documents needed to routinely maintain commercial aircraft; Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), etc
Ability to analyze Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) source documents (Service Bulletins, Service Letters, etc.) and make independent decisions based on analysis of available data regarding incorporation on Customer's fleet
Ability to quickly learn and adhere to Operator's specific processes and procedures
Project Management skills; multi-tasking
