Traffic Analyst I
The City of Roswell, Georgia is looking for a Traffic Analyst I to support traffic management activities within the Transportation Department. This role involves collecting and analyzing traffic data, monitoring traffic systems, and providing administrative support to improve traffic safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Conduct and Compile Traffic Counts: Collect and compile various field data, including speed counts, tube counts, traffic counts, and Average Daily Traffic (ADT) counts for traffic signals and general studies
Equipment Operations: Set up and manage equipment to conduct counts, transferring data to and from counting devices
Reporting: Maintain data files for future use and submit comprehensive reports to management, state, and county agencies as required
Accident Report Review: Download, sort, organize, and review all traffic accident reports. Notify staff promptly of any listed damage to city infrastructure
Video Monitoring: Monitor, video record, count, and collect data for all major intersections, including setting up temporary cameras and occasional on-site vehicle counting. Maintain an inventory of all city-wide counts
Driver Feedback Signs: Manage the driver’s feedback sign program, maintaining a rotational schedule to move signs across the City. Conduct and analyze before-and-after speed studies
Identify Trouble Spots: Observe problematic areas within the traffic and transportation system and recommend design improvements to the supervisor
Study & Analysis: Conduct studies of stop signs and create collision diagrams and condition diagrams for High Accident Locations
Field Work & Remediation: Photograph traffic accident sites and transportation issues. Submit work orders for readily observable remedies
Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all safety procedures, report unsafe activities and conditions, utilize safety equipment, and monitor the work environment to ensure the safety of employees and the public
Continuing Education: Maintain a current, comprehensive knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulations. Conduct research on new issues, methods, equipment, and trends. Participate in continuing education, professional affiliations, meetings, and training
Inventory & Supplies: Monitor inventory levels and ensure an adequate supply of materials for work activities; initiate requests for new or replacement items
Communication: Communicate with the supervisor, other employees, departments, and the public to coordinate work, exchange information, and resolve problems. Respond to requests for service or assistance
Documentation: Prepare and process various forms, reports, correspondence, time cards, and other documentation
Technical Operation: Operate a personal computer and general office equipment, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, AutoCAD, or other system software
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR)
Knowledge of and ability to utilize AutoCAD, GIS, Excel, Outlook, and HDM programs
Ability to operate equipment, machinery, and tools necessary for essential functions
Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, percentages, and fractions) and interpret graphs
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creativity in evaluating information against measurable criteria and in applying principles of rational systems to interpret instructions
Ability to provide guidance and interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards
Ability to communicate orally
Preferred
One (1) year of traffic engineering analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities
