Responsibilities
You will participate in introductory BWR nuclear design, thermal hydraulics, and or fuel mechanics specific training and nuclear engineering learning seminars
Perform BWR core design calculations by using the internal and external design simulation codes, following internal methodology, and consulting with experienced peer and mentor engineers
You will interpret results and work with experienced engineering mentors to produce innovative new projects and loading pattern designs for operating BWR plants
Examples nuclear core design intern projects may include:
Bounding Nuclear Core Calculations, Core Accident Scenarios, Core Loading Pattern Designs
Feasibility Studies and "What if" Scenario Modeling of PWR Core Capabilities
Thermal Hydraulic and BWR Cooling and Moderation Operations
Nuclear Core Design Calculation Automation and Software Design
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in nuclear engineering
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Complete Sophomore year of college
Interest in Core Neutronics, Thermal Hydraulics, or Nuclear Fuel Design
Computer simulation experience
