ASSOCIATE ENGINEER (PUBLIC WORKS)
The City of Torrance is recruiting for an Associate Engineer to be part of the Public Works Department's Engineering Division Team. The Associate Engineer will manage municipal engineering projects, develop project schedules, and coordinate with various departments while ensuring the successful implementation of infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
Manages specific municipal engineering projects
Develops, monitors, and updates project schedules
Prepares and administers professional engineering and professional service contracts
Reviews and recommends the approval of engineering plans, drawings and specifications, cost estimates, contract provisions, legal descriptions, and maps
Coordinates projects with other City departments, agencies and utilities as required
Reviews plans, specifications and estimates for transportation capital improvements
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in engineering
Three years professional engineering field and office experience
Must possess and maintain an appropriate, valid California driver's license
Preferred
Experience or training in engineering computer applications
A valid certificate of registration issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers (Civil preferred)
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Effective written and oral communication skills
Outstanding public relations skills
Excellent organizational skills
