Responsibilities

Provide technical design support on medium voltage projects related to overhead and underground power lines, substations, and utility pole design
Conduct system modeling, coordination studies, and design calculations with co-op clients and provide recommendations for improvement
Applies appropriate codes and regulations in design work
Consult with clients on project needs and conduct project analyses to develop design options
Write/edit technical specifications
Perform QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians
Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, and change orders, and take responsibility for incorporating agreed-upon changes into the project documents
Participate in field reviews or construction observation
Assist with preparing construction cost estimates and construction administration support
Collaborate with the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and construction document phases of a project
Provide exceptional client service

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering or a similar engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution
2+ years of experience with utility line and power distribution design projects within the consulting space
High-level written and verbal communication skills are required
A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required for periodic travel

Preferred

Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation preferred or willing to obtain soon after hire
Software experience to include AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and pole loading analysis software
