Hospice Billing Clerk - Remote

Responsibilities

Achieves department goals in volume, production, quality, and customer service
Performs proper adjudication to Hospice PBM’s according to CMS Hospice policies
Associate hospice documents to correct account
Work with various hospice PBM’s and or agencies to resolve all denials as part of rebill process
Complies and enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practices
Participates in special projects to identify and implement operational improvements
Demonstrates ability to work with others in a positive productive manner
Anticipates and responds to the position responsibilities in a proactive and timely manner
Assists with ensuring safety policies and procedures are practiced and adhered
Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook required
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Individual must have a strong internal and external customer service focus, and work as a team player
Must be dependable with an ability to be flexible, function independently and work under pressure to accomplish multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Must have strong organizational, time management skills, ability to problem solve
This position will be exposed to highly confidential information and data that disclosed would be against Federal and State HIPAA law and contrary to the company's policies and to professional ethics
Frequent contact with internal employees; limited contact with guests and vendors
Requires effective interpersonal skills, exhibiting a pleasant out-going and caring attitude and the ability to interact positively with a professional attitude and demeanor
This position requires the ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally and/or lift, carry, push or move objects
Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time during the work day

Preferred

Previous LTC pharmacy billing preferred
General knowledge and understanding of billing rules desired
Minimum of one year office experience desired
