Responsibilities
Supervises all Room Service Representatives, Expediters, Floor Stocker, and Dish Room Attendants’ activities as outlined in the respective job descriptions of these positions
Communicates effectively with all employees to ensure quality patient meals and to help resolve problems. In addition, communicates effectively to all patients and their family members/guests
Maintains records for financial and quality control monitors
Takes temperatures of food items, completes paperwork for tray counts, conducts tray accuracy and other audits, conducts test trays, conducts meal rounds, etc
Holds pre-service meetings with the room service team as needed
Reports any discrepancies to room service supervisor in a timely manner
Ensures that tray tickets begin printing on time and that trays are made in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures the timely delivery of patient meals
Assists with training of all room service employees and has knowledge of all diets
Documents incidents and reports them to room service supervisor in a timely manner
Maintains consistent adherence in following department and hospital policies and procedures
Supervises and corrects employees not adhering to department and hospital policies and procedures
Exemplifies leadership skills by working well with others and setting a good example for other employees
Assists Room Service Supervisor with projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
Previous supervisor experience, preferred
