Lead/StaffAshby is a dynamic startup focused on creating innovative software solutions for Talent Acquisition. They are seeking a versatile Principal Software Engineer who will take ownership of product development, working end-to-end on features that enhance user experience and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Set up reusable building blocks across the stack and advocate for the time and space to do so
Write product specs, make product and design decisions, and build in an almost-no-meeting culture
Take ownership over a large portion of one of our products and own projects end-to-end
Research competitors, write product specs, make wireframes, and more
Design and build automated interview scheduling
Build a generalized declarative filter architecture that allows users to create complex filters for any record with a consistent UI and compile it to SQL in our backend
Specced, designed, and implemented a feature that allows users to complete signing offers entirely within Ashby
Qualification
Required
Versatile product engineer who can set up reusable building blocks across the stack
Ability to ship features end-to-end at a high pace
Experience in writing product specs and making product and design decisions
Ability to tackle any part of a technology stack
Experience with projects that have a lot of product and technical ambiguity
Ability to strike the right balance between speed and quality
Ambitious and always looking to improve skills
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ability to create leverage in work through automation or abstraction
Experience leading or taking ownership of projects
Preferred
Experience with TypeScript, React, GraphQL API, Node.js, Postgres, Redis
A love of typed languages
Experience in building products beyond Talent Acquisition
