Responsibilities

Inspect construction work for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes

Complete and submit inspection reports accurately and on time

Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Minimum of 2 years inspecting construction work in NYC, across projects of varying size and complexity

Familiarity with Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code

Candidates must hold at least ONE of the following valid certifications: ICC Soils Special Inspector - REQUIRED, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I, ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (Civil)

Current training in fall protection, scaffolding and ladders, work-zone safety, and a minimum of OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification

Preferred

30-Hour OSHA is preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to complete and submit inspection reports accurately and on time

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Familiarity with industry codes and standards

High school diploma or equivalent
