Responsibilities
Assists the Deputy General Legal Counsel with legal activities and functions for the SMSC at the direction of and in collaboration with the General Legal Counsel and Deputy General Legal Counsel
Reviews and drafts a variety of transactional documents and contracts for gaming and non-gaming enterprises and government departments
Supports other attorneys in the areas of employment law, intellectual property and trademark law, government relations, gaming law, and legal research
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required
Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota or licensed to practice law in another state with the ability to become licensed in the State of Minnesota within six months of hire
At least 3 years of professional legal experience required
Strong writing and legal research skills required
Capacity to handle and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
Preferred
Knowledge of legal principles and practices in the area of Federal Indian law, employment law, and commercial transactions preferred
