Responsibilities

Collect and review Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) for clarity and completeness
Collect and review Basis of Design (BOD) documentation, including Sequence of Operations, for conformance with Owner's Project Requirements and industry standards
Perform Design Review of building systems to ensure compliance with OPR and BODs
Collect and review submittals for MEP/controls systems, as well as renewable energy systems (Solar/PV) and building envelope
Conduct Commissioning kickoff coordination call/meeting
Coordinate, schedule, and conduct site visits and verification of proper field installation as it relates to overall system operability and efficiency
Develop startup verification checklists (SVCs), functional performance test (FPT) scripts, and general commissioning documents (such as design review, issues log, etc.)
Collect and review SVCs
Collect and review HVAC Test, Adjust, and Balance (TAB) report
Conduct on-site FPTs
Resolve issues
Review O&M Manuals
Review As-Built drawings
Review Owner training
Prepare Commissioning Documentation

Required

A Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or a related field, or industry commensurate experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the building industry or environmental sciences
Understanding of green building technologies and strategies, particularly energy-related strategies, including renewables
Experience in analyzing construction documents
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the project team
Ability to work independently and self-manage overall projects and work scopes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in MS Office Applications
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with MEP equipment/systems
Proficient in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
Familiar with LEED rating systems and/or other sustainability frameworks
Familiar with Title 24 / CALGreen, ASHRAE (90.1 and 62.1), and other codes
Safety first mindset

Preferred

PE or EIT
LEED AP or Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
ANSI/ISO accredited commissioning accreditation(s)
Design experience with MEP equipment/systems, and/or renewable energy
Experience with Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx)
Experience with Existing Building Commissioning or Retro-Commissioning, Ongoing Commissioning, Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx), ASHRAE Energy Audits, etc
Understanding of Energy Management and Energy Efficiency requirements and practices
Experience in Test, Adjust, and Balance (TAB) of HVAC systems
